On June 25−26 2024 the 10th anniversary edition of the International Forum "Primakov Readings" will be held at the Moscow World Trade Center.
International Forum "Primakov Readings" is an annual meeting of experts in the field of international relations and world economy.
The first Readings in honor of Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov were held on October 29, 2015 on his birthday. The event was initiated and organized by the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of Russian Academy of Sciences, World Trade Center and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The Forum rightfully occupies a prominent place among the most authoritative and representative international conferences, attracting the attention of decision-makers, diplomats, prominent experts and journalists from around the world.
This autumn marks the 95th anniversary of the birth of E.M. Primakov. In light of this event, the main program of the Primakov Readings will be opened by a session dedicated to his scientific and political legacy.
The anniversary Forum will be focused on the role of BRICS in shaping a new global economic architecture, vectors of interaction between the countries of Greater Eurasia, a polycentric nuclear world and the impact of modern crises on the future contours of European security, as well as the role of culture in international relations.
"We decided to devote the Anniversary X Primakov Readings to the topic "Russia in a Global Context." Why this choice? For the past decade, we have been discussing global issues: the risks of a return to confrontation, the horizons of post-globalization, the rise of Eurasia, and the characteristics of the post-global world, among others.
We warned about the strategic miscalculations of the West regarding their hopes for an economic catastrophe in Russia due to the history of sanctions war; the inviolability of the unipolar world order; the possibility of a global blockade of our export-oriented economy.
The main surprise for our enemies was the fantastic stability of the Russian economy. It is worth noting that no other economy in the world would be able to withstand such pressure. There is a feeling that experts in the West increasingly lose the understanding of Russian realities. They look, figuratively speaking, in the rearview mirror of their own rhetoric and propaganda," said Alexander Dynkin, Academician, President of IMEMO and Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum.
