Meeting of graduates of the “Primakov Readings” Youth Session

On December 4−5, 2022 the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) and the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation held meeting of alumni of the Youth Session of the "Primakov Readings-2022".

The Youth session was opened by a speech of IMEMO Director, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Feodor Voitolovsky. He spoke about the system analysis school created at IMEMO and how this method is used in the study of international processes.

The second block of presentations was devoted to current trends in the post-Soviet space. The second panel began with a lecture by Sergey Markedonov, Leading Researcher of the Euro-Atlantic Security Center of the Institute for International Studies at MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, "Post-Soviet Space on the Modern Geopolitical Map of the World"

In the third part of the session the lecture "Modern Architecture of International Security" was delivered by Dmitry Trenin, Cand. of Science (History), Lead Researcher of the Center for International Security of IMEMO.

Leili Rustamova, Cand. of Science (Politics), Research Fellow of the Group on Peace and Conflict Studies of IMEMO, spoke at the section that followed. In her report, "The Culture of Cancellation in the Policies of Western Countries towards Russia," she spoke about the phenomenon of the "culture of cancellation", revealing how it was used for individuals and is now used to delegitimize certain countries, including Russia.

The meeting was organized by the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation and IMEMO Council of Young Scientists. During the event, participants from different regions of Russia, near and far abroad listened to expert lectures, asked questions to leading analysts and presented their own vision of the problems and prospects of international relations.
